Terms and conditions

These terms apply to the website of the College of the European School of Oncology (ESCO) and its users. The ESCO website is owned by the European School of Oncology (ESO). ESO may decide at any time to amend these terms and post the modified document on the website.

ESO will not be liable for any modification, suspension or termination of the service, or loss of related information.

Users assume all risk for any damage to their computer system or loss of data that results from obtaining any content from the website, including any damages resulting from computer viruses.

The content is provided on a “as is”, “as available” and “with all faults” basis.

Contents

The content of the website is intended as an informational and educational tool relating to the ESO and ESCO activities. The content is designed for oncology professionals who have taken part in an ESO competitive activity and would like to enroll in ESCO in order join its community and take advantage of the member benefits.

With the aim of disseminating information, the website will propose links to other websites and include content provided by third-parties. However, ESO has no responsibility to whether this content, or the content of the linked websites, is accurate or complete.

Even though the website includes scientific / medical information, it is not designed to provide medical advice and no responsibility can be taken to whether the medical information is complete, exhaustive or accurate. Patients and the general public visiting the website should always seek professional medical advice.

ESCO enrolment

By enrolling in ESCO or by compiling an on-line registration users agree to:

  • Disclose and provide accurate, current and complete contact details and personal/professional information,
  • Maintain and update their data,
  • Authorise ESO to verify their data,
  • Maintain the security of their password and identification in relation to the members area.

All precautions will be taken as to avoid unauthorised access to the data; however, users will accept such risk.

Information for the handling of personal data

According to the Legislative Decree 196/2003 regarding the code for the protection of personal data, the personal data supplied by the users and in our possession will be used both in terms of electronic use and without, for internal use and by supplying it to external structures, exclusively based on the demand for information or contract development, in particular for the purposes inherent in subscribing/taking part in training courses held at our School and in sending informative material relating to current or future activities of the School.

The handling of data will be carried out so as to guarantee that current legislative norm is enforced. In the case of users not consenting to the handling of personal data it will be impossible to carry out the users’ requests. The School will not publicize personal data, unless permission has been given to include personal data in the ESCO Directory and ESCO Library. Communicating data or of part of it, both on Italian territory and abroad, is always and only in relation to the activities of the European School of Oncology and to users’ specific requests. Users’ rights in relation to the data ESO handles are specified in Article 7 DLGS 196/2003.

Users can contact the person in charge of the treatment of personal data at the address: Milan (Italy), Via Turati, 29 - to validate their rights regarding the treatment of personal data.

Links

The ESCO website may propose a list of links to the websites of selected, internationally recognised, medical and scientific organisations and with partners in its activities.

However, ESCO has no responsibility to whether the contents of the linked websites are accurate and complete, and it does not endorse their contents.

Organisations which do not comply with the above description will not be linked to the ESCO website.

Advertising

Commercial advertising will not be allowed on the ESCO website.
